The 35th Annual Scientific Meeting of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), one of the benchmark congresses in specialized veterinary surgery, was held at the ACC Liverpool from July 9 to 11, 2026. The event brought together diplomates, residents, and researchers in small and large animal surgery from around the world in a hybrid format that allowed for both in-person and virtual attendance.
As in previous editions, the scientific program combined pre-congress practical workshops with lectures delivered by international specialists, oral communications, and scientific poster presentations, offering an updated and multidisciplinary view of advances in veterinary surgery. During the congress, attendees were offered the opportunity to register for small-group sessions for close interaction with specialists (Meet the Experts). These sessions allowed participants to speak directly with leading surgeons in various fields of the specialty, raise specific questions, and delve into particular topics of clinical practice. Concurrently, a dedicated program was developed for veterinary nursing staff, focusing on aspects such as patient safety, human factors in surgery, operating room sustainability, and the perioperative management of the traumatized patient, reflecting the growing importance of teamwork in veterinary surgery.
